United in fight: Survivors and loved ones walk for breast cancer awareness

An event to honor breast cancer survivors, thrivers and their loved ones while fundraising for a good cause.
Good Morning Washington was joined on Monday by Pastor Henry Godwin from Winners Church and breast cancer survivor Rosemond Jarrett-Judkins to talk about a 2K victory walk for breast cancer awareness that is happening on Saturday.
Winners Church is hosting a 2k victory walk for cancer survivors, thrivers, their loved ones that is designed to promote awareness and education about breast and other types of cancer.
This mission is personal for Pastor Godwin and the members of Winners Church.
“A few years ago, we lost a lot of members of our church to this disease called cancer,“ Pastor Godwin said “Our assignment is to give hope,”.
The event is not just a walk, there will also be fundraising efforts, survivor recognition and educational resources from healthcare professionals.

“This walk as a survivor, is a celebration of victory for me,“ Rosemond said. “Cancer does not define you, you can be better and bigger than before”.
The event will take place at Winners Church in Dumfries, VA from 8:30-11AM.
