Geneva, September 29 (QNA) – The UN Human Rights Office in the occupied Palestinian territory has called on Israel to halt all attacks on hospitals in Gaza City immediately and ensure that all injured have access to emergency medical care.
The Israeli military attacks on hospitals and their perimeters hamper civilian patients’ and the injured’s access to life-saving care in Gaza City.
The escalating attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure are causing countless casualties, the office reported in a statement on Monday.
The statement added that since Sept. 16, the office has recorded as many as 17 Israeli attacks on either health facilities or their perimeters across all parts of Gaza City, with Al-Quds Hospital in the southwest of the city, Dr. Abdel Aziz Al-Rantisi Specialized Pediatric Hospital in the northwest, and the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) in the central city directly coming under attacks.
In addition, the office recorded strikes in the perimeter of Al-Shifa Medical Complex west of the city and Al-Ahli Hospital in the eastern part, as well as other incidents.
Until Sept. 25, 2025, seven of the 13 hospitals in Gaza City are barely operating, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, with the intense strikes at their perimeters making access to these facilities mostly impossible for those in need of healthcare, the office noted.
It appealed to the international community to take concrete action to stop the unprovoked destruction, killing, and displacement, in addition to holding Israel accountable for its persistent grave violations in Gaza. (QNA)
