Anambra state Deputy Governor Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim has boasted that the gubernatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress APC Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu cannot win his town union election let alone wining the Gubernatorial candidate next Saturday. Ibezim who spoke during a thank you reception held by his community Mbaukwu in Awka South local government area recalled how Ukachukwu failed to win in his two polling units and wards noting that it is an indication that he is not on ground. Ibezim contended that for one to test his popularity and acceptability among his people he had to do that through an election adding that since Ukachukwu could not be voted for by his kinsmen, , he is not eligible to be the governor of Anambra state. “I thank you my people for the election that brought me and my boss Governor Charles Soludo into office four years ago” “What I am seeing in this election looks like Anambra people will vote for us massively” “That is the major take away because it has never happened in the history of Anambra politics” “Election is next Saturday and people would go to vote for APGA and this coming election if anyone tells you that the results have been written, don’t mind them because these are the kind of lies they go about peddling at every election and they keep deceiving people” “You remember when we had the bye elections of Anambra South Senatorial District and Onitsha North 1 Constituency they started peddling falsehood and boasting that the election is a test of their popularity and that after that it would go to show that the governorship election would be a work over ” “Then what happened on that day? The one that was boasting what happened at his polling units and wards ? ” “He failed in his two polling units and the wards and I was there on that day ” “If a politician fails in his ward it means that his kinsmen did not vote for him and that goes to show that his people in Osumenyi did not support him and that means that he cannot win a village or kindred election let alone winning governorship election” “In this election every vote must count and there would be no room for manipulations ” he said. Ibezim boasted that by this time next week it would be celebration gallor across the state when APGA must have been declared winner of the election. “By this time next week we shall be celebrating our victory over those people that wants to set our state back “he said. Speaking earlier the Chairman of the occasion Chief Sir Anthony Okafor noted that Mbaukwu people are privileged to have one of their sons as the Deputy Governor adding that it is a thank you reception for Governor Charles Soludo for chosing their brother once again for the next for years. Similarly the President General of Mbaukwu Community Comerade Ikechukwu Emmanuel Afu Ekwe described the first term in office of Governor Charles Soludo has brought monumental infrastructural development to Anambra state.
