UHKF door-to-door campaign in support of Kingston hospitals to continue in November

Starting Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, University Hospitals Kingston Foundation (UHKF) canvassers will again visit area neighbourhoods to encourage people to become monthly donors. According to a release from UHKF, the door-to-door campaign aims to encourage monthly donations — steady gifts that make a lasting difference for Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and Providence Care. “By signing up as a monthly donor, you become part of a dedicated community that sustains excellent care year-round,” said Krista Ellis-Smith, Senior Development Officer in Direct Response Fundraising at UHKF. “Our door-to-door campaign is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact that continues well beyond a single gift.” These campaigns run multiple times each year, UHKF told Kingstonist in an earlier interview. Over the coming days, trained canvassers will be visiting homes throughout the region to share how even modest monthly gifts help fund vital medical equipment, patient comfort items, and innovative programs that aren’t covered by government funding, UHKF detailed. According to the release, UHKF is once again partnering with GlobalFaces Direct to deliver the campaign, and canvassers will carry official ID badges and are trained professionals. Anyone wishing to confirm a canvasser’s identity can call 1-833-341-0106 for verification. “To keep the process simple and secure, donations are collected using encrypted tablets. Personal and financial information is transmitted instantly to protected servers and fully encrypted to Payment Compliance Industry (PCI) standards,” UHKF detailed. The Foundation’s goal this year is ambitious: to welcome more than 750 new monthly donors by year’s end, according to the release. Each one will reportedly help strengthen local health care for more than 650,000 people served by KHSC and Providence Care across southeastern Ontario. “Behind every recovery, every comforting moment, and every new piece of life-changing equipment are donors who believe in better health care for all. This campaign is about reaching them — one door, one conversation, and one act of kindness at a time,” UHKF stated.
