And nobody appeared more frustrated than Spurs duo Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence. The defensive duo could be seen quickly walking towards the tunnel following the final whistle, with Frank marching out to meet them. But as he reached the players – and appeared to reach for a handshake – they swerved to walk around him and kept walking, without even making eye contact. Frank was clearly not too happy about the incident as he turned to stare them down as they walked on, with Spence throwing his hands in the air in frustration. Fans were not pleased with the interaction, with one labelling the scenes: “Insulting to the manager and the fans.” Another fan said of the moment: “God that’s awkward.” But Frank himself had clearly calmed down by the time he addressed it in the post-match press conference. He downplayed the significance of the confrontation, saying: “All the players are of course frustrated. “They would like to do well, like to win, like to perform well. I understand that. “I understand why you ask the question but I think that is one of the small issues. Everyone is frustrated.” Van de Ven was straight down the tunnel, which is perhaps unsurprising considering that his howler handed Chelsea their victory. The only goal of the game came from the Dutchman being caught on the ball on the edge of his box by Moises Caicedo, who was able to poke it to Joao Pedro for an easy finish in the first half.
