UGI gas main replacement project will disrupt traffic in Camp Hill: Here’s when

UGI Utilities said it will start a natural gas main replacement project in a Cumberland County municipality next week that will require road closures, detours and parking restrictions.
The project will start in Camp Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 1, on Scarsdale Drive between Rockaway Drive and Plainview Road; and at the Rockaway Drive, Cedarhurst Lane and Plainview Road intersections at Scarsdale Drive.
“The system upgrades are part of UGI’s commitment to provide safe and reliable service. The work is also an opportunity for some homes and businesses along the project route to convert to natural gas,” UGI said in a news release.
Construction is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“Drivers, residents, and business owners may experience road closures, detours, and parking restrictions. There will be some interruptions to natural gas service. This will require UGI to have access to properties to inspect and relight equipment,” UGI said.
Depending on weather and working conditions, the project is expected to be done by the end of October. Final paving and restoration, UGI said, “will occur later.”
Residents interested in converting to natural gas should call 800-276-2722 or send an email to gasconversion@ugi.com.
