UFC Fighter Rules Out White House Bout After 'Abandoning' Donald Trump

The White House will play host to one of the most unique events in UFC history in June 2026 as the world's leading MMA promotion takes over the South Lawn to present a landmark card. US President Donald Trump is a massive UFC fan. Such is his enthusiasm for combat sports that Trump can frequently be seen sitting cageside at major pay-per-views. However, on the 14th of June next year, there will be no need for Trump to travel to an arena. The action will come to him as the UFC stages a show at The White House on what will be the president''s 80th birthday. The magnitude of the event is not lost on even the sport's biggest stars as names such as Conor McGregor and Jon Jones have put their names forward as potential headliners. Reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira has even begun campaigning for a fight with Jones at The White House. To date, Trump has only indicated that one fighter has a 'done deal' when it comes to competing at the event, but it's tough to imagine that the 79-year-old would have any objection to either Jones vs Pereira or a McGregor fight. 'Not With Trump No More' - UFC Fighter Won't Feature on White House Card After Social Media Rant While Trump is a politically-divisive figure, he has always enjoyed strong backing from a number of UFC fighters. One of his biggest supporters on the roster for a significant period was American featherweight Bryce Mitchell. The Arkansas-born black belt frequently pledged allegiance to Trump in his post-fight interviews, even going as far as to say he would "take a bullet" for the president. For the longest time "Thug Nasty" would have been considered a lock for The White House card. However, Mitchell has clearly had a major change of heart when it comes to Trump, telling his followers on Instagram that "he wasn't with Trump" anymore during a passionate rant. Mitchell held nothing back when it comes to his current feelings on the president, ruling out any possibility of him competing at The White House next June. "I'm not with Trump no more. I don't support him, I don't like him, I think he's a corrupted leader, and it took me a while to come to that conclusion, but I finally am coming to it." Current Favourites to Compete on the UFC White House Card While UFC CEO Dana White insists that no matches have been made for The White House event as of yet, fan speculation continues to swirl as to who could land on the card. According to OBLG, oddsmakers list McGregor and Jones among the most likely participants on the show. Also at the head of the betting is reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion Tom Aspinall, closely followed by UFC legend Max Holloway and former bantamweight titleholder Sean O'Malley. A full card is unlikely to be made official until around a month before the event. For as big as The White House show is, the company won't want its biggest stars sitting on the sidelines and waiting for June next year. With eight months still to go until the card, a lot can change.
