“After a run around for months with the pediatrician’s office, I knew what was going on was something bigger. Always trust your mom’s gut. Our sweet Rookie was showing signs of heart failure that were being missed. Please pray for this sweet guy that God heals his heart. With God, Rookie, and his amazing doctors here at Levine’s, I believe He can.”
It’s bad news in the middle of the NASCAR Playoffs, and Tyler Reddick was torn apart between his family and his shot at being crowned the champion.
Although upset, he nonetheless managed to fight up to the seventh place at Kansas Speedway on September 28. Such a finish put him in the playoffs despite the fact that he was -29 points below the elimination mark.

He’s gained weight. A lot of things are going well. All that being said, we’re definitely not in the clear.”

“That was a decision me and her came to when I was in Kansas,” he said of racing while Rookie was hospitalized. “He was going in the right direction, and for that weekend, he was stable. It was tough to stay and race on Sunday, but we were on the same page. I just wanted to get off that plane and back to the hospital.”
Despite the emotional toll, Tyler Reddick delivered a composed performance at the Roval, reminding everyone of his grit. “For me, this week, everything happening in the racing world is taking a back seat, as it should,” he added. Even 23XI co-owner Denny Hamlin praised his resilience, saying, “Tyler’s one of the toughest out there, on and off the track.”
