Emergency services rescued two people from the sea at Blackpool after being spotted “some distance out” in the early hours of Friday morning. A 999 call was made at 5.34am on Friday, September 26, amid concerns for the welfare of two people in the sea near to Manchester Square. RNLI Blackpool was deployed to assist officers from Lancashire Constabulary. The ‘Phyllis Rowan’ lifeboat was launched by volunteers and they found the two casualties “some distance out on the ebbing low tide”, LancsLive reports. Two crew members jumped into the water and helped the two to shore where they were treated by paramedics. D Class lifeboat Phyllis Rowan was launched immediately by RNLI volunteer crews. “On arriving on scene, the D class crew found the persons in the water some distance out on the ebbing low tide. Join the Manchester Evening News WhatsApp group HERE “Two of the crew entered the water and assisted the casualties to the shoreline, where they were delivered to the care of the North West Ambulance Service for further treatment. “The lifeboat crew returned to the Lifeboat Station, where the lifeboat was washed down and prepared for the next call.
