Two people were killed in a shooting at the Allenby Crossing between the Israeli-occupied West Bank and Jordan, the IDF and Israeli ambulance service said on Thursday.

Israel’s ambulance service Magen David Adom (MDA) confirmed two mean died at the scene, and added an assailant was killed by security forces.

“After CPR operations, MDA medics and paramedics, with the assistance of an IDF medical force, determine the death of 2 men, aged 60 and 20,” a statement from the MDA said.

In a statement, the IDF said a person “arrived in a truck transporting humanitarian aid from Jordan, and opened fire”.

IDF troops are currently conducting searches in the area and encircling Jericho, it added, saying an investigation is underway.

Jordanian media has reported that the Israeli armed forced have since closed the Karameh crossing, east of the West Bank, to incoming traffic.
