Hyderabad will host the two-day T-CHIP Semicon Constitution Summit on beginning September 27.
The move is touted as India’s first attempt to draft a guiding framework for a global semiconductor ecosystem.
The summit, organised under the Technology Chip Innovation Program (T-CHIP), will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and academics to define principles, collaborations, and mandates for accelerating semiconductor development.
The event is likely to have representatives from the Union and Telangana governments, including those from the electronics, education, and defence sectors, apart from heads of universities and engineering institutions.
Industry participation will include leaders from IESA, Quantum Technologies, ARM, and Taiwan’s TSRI, among others. IIT Hyderabad is set to unveil its first indigenous AI chip, highlighting India’s growing design capabilities.
Sessions will include knowledge exchanges, MoU signings, awards, and networking, aiming to position Telangana and India as a key hub in the global chip industry.
Leading voices from academia will include Vice Chancellors of major universities, V. Balakista Reddy, Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), and heads of departments from engineering institutions. Global and national industry leaders will also be present, including Dr. KG Vishwanathan, Director of the India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA), and Mr. Chelle Venkata Rama Raju, Director of Quantum Technologies, alongside international delegates from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute (TSRI), ARM, and GUS Technology led by CEO CC Chang.
