Police have arrested two suspects, aged 22 and 50, in connection with an assault on a minibus driver that occurred last Saturday in Larnaca.

The attack was captured on video and subsequently posted on social media, showing two individuals assaulting a driver.

The footage shows two people verbally attacking the driver of a following vehicle – a van – for reasons that remain unknown. One of the attackers then strikes the driver in the face.

Following the assault, the minibus driver exits his vehicle and attempts to photograph the licence plates of the attackers’ vehicle. At one point, he positions himself in front of their vehicle, whereupon the other driver accelerates with the risk of running him down.

Police confirmed they arrested the two suspects to facilitate investigations into the assault case.
