Turmeric Conclave showcases technology, innovation, and global market opportunities

The 6th edition of PonManjal – Turmeric Conclave 2025, organised by CII Erode Zone, was held at the Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam, on Monday (September 29, 2025). The conclave showcased innovation, technology, and global opportunities for India’s “golden spice.”

The event was inaugurated virtually by N. Bhavani Sri, secretary, National Turmeric Board, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. In her address, she underlined India’s leading role in turmeric production and exports, adding that initiatives like PonManjal would help farmers adopt new technologies, improve quality standards, and capture global markets. She also assured full support from the National Turmeric Board to boost sectoral growth.

Devarajan, vice chairman, CII Tamil Nadu State Council; Suresh Kannan, convenor, Agri and Food Processing Panel, CII Tamil Nadu; G. Aravind, chairman, CII Erode Zone; D. Venkateswaran, chairman, CII Turmeric Conclave 2025 and C. Palanisamy, Principal of the college, were also present.

The one-day conclave brought together farmers, industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers to explore opportunities for advancing the turmeric industry through sustainable cultivation, innovation, and market expansion. Plenary sessions addressed industry overview and export opportunities, quality and storage practices, e-auction platforms, market-driven turmeric varieties, and organic farming interventions.

Farmers from across Tamil Nadu and parts of Karnataka participated in the event. Farm equipment and drone sprayers were also showcased at the exhibition held alongside the conclave.
