Turki Alalshikh Confirms Canelo Alvarez’s 2026 Plans Even as Tyson vs Paul Record Remains Unbroken

Turki Alalshikh Confirms Canelo Alvarez’s 2026 Plans Even as Tyson vs Paul Record Remains Unbroken

“More than 41 million views for the historic fight! 😍 🔥,” wrote Turki Alalshikh. He added, “Crawford vs. Canelo wasn’t just a match — it was history in the making 🥊.” Looking at the specifics, the showdown at the Allegiant Stadium remains far behind last year’s Jake Paul-Mike Tyson match that reportedly received 108 million views. Even the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano stood out. Still, as Alalshikh pointed out, it was a momentous evening for boxing. As the first three-division undisputed champion among men, Terence Crawford wrote history. However, a big question lingers. Where does Canelo Alvarez go from here?
It’s too early to speculate on the impact the loss has on his legacy. For the time being, many wonder: Will there be a rematch with Terence Crawford? Or will Canelo finally give the go-ahead for the all-Mexican clash with David Benavidez? While fans search for some answers, Turki Alalshikh nonetheless dropped some hints.

Turki Alalshikh charts Canelo’s way forward
Through his social media accounts, the Riyadh Season head shared a photo. It featured a meetup with Canelo Alvarez. Turki Alalshikh could be seen holding the gloves the Mexican superstar used for the Crawford fight. So sharing that Canelo was planning for a family vacation, Alalshikh wrote, “He has 2 fights left with @RiyadhSeason in ’26. We offered him to work with us until he quits and retires.”
Later he thanked Canelo for the special gift. “I want go give a special thank you to @Canelo for the special gift. He gave me the gloves of the fight, and I appreciate it very much.” Another post had Turki Alalshikh sharing a picture of Terence Crawford holding the Ring belt as well.

For the record, the two fights that Turki Alalshikh mentioned pertain to the four-fight deal Canelo signed with Riyadh Season. Under the $200 million contract, he’s supposed to fight two fights in 2025, followed by the remaining two next year.
By taking on William Scull and Terence Crawford, Canelo has fulfilled half of the bargain.
Canelo Alvarez at a crossroads
It will be intriguing to see who he fights on the regular Cinco de Mayo fixture next year. Speculations are rife. To begin with, many, especially the Canelo Alvarez fans, hope for a rematch with Terence Crawford. But as the Nebraskan genius revealed, their fight contract didn’t carry the rematch clause.
So that obviously draws questions over a rematch with Dmitry Bivol or the much-sought-after fight against David Benavidez, which has been hanging in the air for a long time.
Interestingly, Canelo’s loss has opened the door to some fascinating matchups, including the one against Jake Paul. The YouTuber-turned-boxer had called out the former super middleweight champion early this year.
And Canelo’s manager, Richard Schaefer, hasn’t ruled it out entirely. “Could I see this as a mega event, Jake Paul vs. Canelo?” “Yeah, I could see that,” Schaefer stated recently. Earlier he mentioned, “There were some conversations going on, and who knows, maybe that fight is going to happen one day. But right now I think there’s still some other real fights out there for Canelo.”
Then Chris Eubank Jr. is another hopeful. The English middleweight, who has already featured on Riyadh Season cards, expressed interest in facing the winner of the Canelo-Crawford fight. “After I dispatch Conor Benn for the second time, either one of those two men, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, I would love to share the ring with in 2026,” he told Sky Sports.
