'Tulsa King' Renewed for Season 4, Terence Winter to Return

“Tulsa King” has been renewed for Season 4 at Paramount+. In addition, Variety has learned that Terence Winter will be returning behind the scenes of the series.
The renewal news comes just ahead of the Season 3 premiere of Taylor Sheridan’s crime drama, which is set for Sept. 21. Back in November 2024, it was reported that series lead Sylvester Stallone was nearing a new deal that would keep him with the show at least through Season 4.
Winter was the original showrunner and executive producer on Season 1 of “Tulsa King,” but departed ahead of the second season, only to return as a writer and executive producer after all. Winter then sat out Season 3, exiting to work on a series about mobster Sammy “The Bull” Gravano at FX. For Season 4 of “Tulsa King,” he is being called the show’s head writer in addition to executive producing. Season 3 showrunner Dave Erickson will not be returning, but will instead focus on running fellow Sheridan show “Mayor of Kingstown.”
The official description for “Tulsa King” Season 3 states, “As Dwight’s (Stallone) empire expands, so do his enemies – and the risks to his crew. Now, he faces his most dangerous adversaries in Tulsa yet: the Dunmires, a powerful old-money family that doesn’t play by old-world rules, forcing Dwight to fight for everything he’s built and protect his family.”
Along with Stallone, the cast for Season 3 includes: Martin Starr, Jay Will, Annabella Sciorra, Neal McDonough, Robert Patrick, Beau Knapp, Bella Heathcote, Chris Caldovino, McKenna Quigley Harrington, Mike “Cash Flo” Walden, Kevin Pollak, Vincent Piazza, Frank Grillo, Michael Beach, James Russo, with Garrett Hedlund and Dana Delany.
Samuel L. Jackson will guest star in multiple episodes before heading up the spinoff series “NOLA King.” The show, which was greenlit in July, is reportedly planning to begin shooting in early 2026. Jackson will play a friend of Dwight’s from prison who is sent to Tulsa to kill him, only to find himself inspired by Dwight’s organization to the point of returning home to New Orleans to establish himself in the city’s underworld.
“NOLA King” has its own showrunner drama. Erickson was originally set to run “NOLA King,” but as Variety exclusively reported, he stepped down from that role on the spinoff. No new showrunner has been named at the time of this publishing.
“Tulsa King” is executive produced by Sheridan, Stallone, Erickson, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Jim McKay, Sheri Elwood, Ildy Modrovich and Keith Cox. The show is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios produce.
