With the annual Tirumala Brahmotsavams scheduled to begin on September 24 and continue until October 2, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has drawn up an elaborate action plan to ensure the smooth conduct of the nine-day festivities.
TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary convened a coordination meeting on Monday at Annamayya Bhavan with Tirupati SP L. Subbarayudu, vigilance officials, and police authorities to finalize arrangements for devotee safety, transport, and crowd management.
Briefing the media, Mr. Chowdary said that foolproof security would be ensured with the deployment of 4,200 police personnel and 1,500 TTD vigilance staff. A state-of-the-art Command Control System will monitor real-time crowd movement and help decongest sensitive points.
Regarding transport, he said that 435 APSRTC buses will operate daily to ferry tens of thousands of devotees, while 23 parking areas have been earmarked in Tirupati. The galleries on Mada streets can accommodate up to two lakh devotees, with measures in place to ensure a hassle-free darshan experience.
Special entry and exit protocols are being arranged for the Chief Minister, constitutional heads, and other VIPs. Dedicated teams will also monitor and promptly counter misleading social media campaigns.
Mr. Chowdary appealed to devotees to make use of the safe and free public transport system during the festival.
