President Donald Trump鈥檚 planned ballroom at the White House isn鈥檛 getting rave reviews from critics on social media.
The 90,000-square-foot ballroom, announced over the summer, will dwarf the White House main residence, which is 55,000 square feet, not counting the East Wing and West Wing.

Trump said in July the ballroom would be funded 鈥渂y donors or whatever鈥 and not taxpayer dollars.

But critics noted that the oversized building stands as a monument to excess at a time when Trump has slashed federal programs in medical research, education, food, and health care.
The new ballroom also comes as Trump puts his personal touch on nearly every part of the White House. He paved over some of the Rose Garden for a patio, redecorated interior spaces, including the Oval Office, and added two giant flagpoles to the lawn.
But mostly, they really didn鈥檛 love the image of the monumental ballroom towering over the White House:
