Trump spills telling detail from royal chats in new interview

Donald Trump has revealed the main topic King Charles wanted to discuss with him while he was being hosted at Windsor Castle.

There’s been plenty of speculation about what the King and his high-profile guest would be talking about behind castle doors, with the pair showing warmth toward each other in the past but having wildly different views on issues such as climate change.

In a new interview with Fox News, Trump told anchor Martha MacCallum that the King was “more interested in trade than anything else” during their conversations.

“You know he loves the environment too, he talks about that a lot, but he was more interested in trade than anything else,” he revealed.

“We’re working a trade deal with the UK which is going to be a good deal for both.

“And then we’re working it with the Prime Minister and his various representatives, I think it’s going to be a great deal for both.”

The US President and First Lady have just wrapped up their historic state visit to the UK, which saw the royals roll out the red carpet and pull out all the stops with pomp and pageantry.

It wrapped up on Thursday following diplomatic negotiations between Trump and the British prime minister, Keir Starmer, which resulted in the announcement of a major tech deal between the US and UK.

The visit has largely been hailed a major success, with a senior White House official telling The Daily Telegraph that it had been “fantastic” and hinted a return invitation was on the cards.

“The British know how to do this perfectly. They set the bar high for their trip to see us,” the source said.
