President Donald Trump is vowing to intervene to help a popular cartoonist receive cancer treatment. Scott Adams, the creator of the comic strip “Dilbert,” posted on X on Sunday that he would ask the president to intervene on Monday. He claimed that Kaiser Permanente, his health care provider, had “dropped the ball” in scheduling his appointment for Pluvicto, a drug used to treat metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer. “On Monday, I will ask President Trump, via X, to help save my life,” Adams wrote in the post. “He offered to help me if I needed it. I need it.” Adams, who has been a vocal supporter of the president since his first bid for the White House in 2016, previously announced his prostate cancer diagnosis in May, saying that he was expected to die sometime over the summer. He explained that he had the same aggressive form of cancer that former President Joe Biden also was diagnosed with during the same month. Following his announcement, Adams said that Trump had called to check in on him. He noted that he did not pick up at first, leaving the president to send over a voicemail, in which he mentioned: “This is your favorite president.” “I thought to myself, ‘No, did I just send the most important person in the world to voicemail?’” Adams said in a video at the time. “And it turns out that I had.” Several of Trump’s closest allies had come across his call to action. “Going to make sure that my dad sees this,” Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son, replied to Adams. “We’re all praying for you, keep fighting!” Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asked how he could reach Adams, adding that “The President wants to help.” It later led to a response from the president. “On it!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform. Afshine Emrani, a cardiologist who worked with the health system, also weighed in: “Kaiser is paying attention. The medical directors are on this now.” “They will contact you TODAY,” Emrani wrote in another post on Sunday. “No need for @realDonaldTrump. We got you. Bless you. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
