Trump hangs portrait of autopen in Biden’s place on White House Presidential Walk of Fame
Trump has ordered an investigation into Biden’s use of an autopen throughout his presidential term.

US PRESIDENT DONALD Trump has hung portraits of America’s presidents along a White House walkway in the building’s West Wing – and replaced his predecessor Joe Biden with an image of the former president’s autopen.
An autopen is a machine that automates a person’s signature with a pen or pencil, rather than a scanned signature.
Biden made use of an autopen throughout his term as president. Trump ordered an ongoing investigation by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform into Biden’s autopen use.
The government investigation is titled “The Biden Autopen Scandal: Who was really running the White House?”
It claims to be investigating whether “Biden’s cognitive decline was covered up by his inner circle and if critical decisions were made on his behalf using an autopen, including executive actions, pardons, and policy directives”. The committee is currently subpoenaing former aides to appear for depositions.
Biden has denied accusations that his use of an autopen meant that the pardons and acts of clemency he had enacted were either illegitimate or that his aides had made decisions without his knowledge.

“The autopen … is legal,” Biden told The New York Times. “As you know, other presidents used it, including Trump. But the point is that … we’re talking about a whole lot of people.”
Trump had said he was planning on representing Biden in the hall with an autopen in an interview with The Daily Caller at the beginning of September. He told the outlet’s White House correspondent that they were “doing what’s called the Presidential Wall of Fame”.
“We put up a picture of the autopen,” he is quoted as saying. “He was a horrible president, but can you imagine, he says he has stage nine cancer… I’ve never heard of more than stage four. Stage four is the highest. I’ve never — if you’re stage four, you’re dead.”
Special Assistant to Trump and communications advisor Margo Martin posted a video of the wall of fame today, with the caption: “The Presidential Walk of Fame has arrived on the West Wing Colonnade. Wait for it…” followed by an emoji of a pen and eyes.

On the so-called walk of fame, an image of Biden’s signature beneath the White House’s autopen features between two portraits of Trump. All other American presidents remain unchanged.
The new display is one of many changes Trump is making to the White House, the most major of which is the construction of a new ballroom, estimated to cost around $200m.
He also paved over the grassy area of the Rose Garden and has decorated the Oval Office in gold.
