Trump Gets Lost On Red Carpet, Strolls Clueless As He Reviews Guard Of Honour In Tokyo | Video

Mocking former US President Joe Biden for his verbal gaffes during his final days in office, incumbent Donald Trump has himself gone viral on social media for his out-of-place and clueless conduct during his official visit to Japan. A video of Trump is going viral on social media, where he seemingly has no idea as to what he was supposed to do being a head of state during the ceremonial welcome. In the viral online video, Trump could be seen accompanying Japan’s new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, as he was accorded a ceremonial welcome with a Guard of Honour in Tokyo on Tuesday. Trump, who was on a three-day visit to Japan, first raised his hand in a salute to the personnel while inspecting the Guard of Honour, however, he placed his hand down soon after he realised that perhaps that is not the protocol. The very next moment, as the Japanese PM signalled him to stop at the next step, Trump did not notice it and walked on, giving the impression that he was apparently lost in some thoughts of his own. As Trump kept walking, PM Takaichi stopped as per the protocol and looked in utter surprise at Trump. She then walked a little swiftly to match Trump’s steps. However, there was more to come. Trump in Japan looked less like a president, more like a confused mall walker. Wandering aimlessly during the ceremonial welcome, needing hand-holding to find the right spot. The guy who mocked Biden’s mental fitness just got lost on a red carpet.#LostInTranslation #IronyIsDead pic.twitter.com/jD7hKAroSp — HotToddy (@2HotToddy) October 28, 2025 The Republican leader walked as if he were strolling in a park, cluelessly, walking in a straight direction, while he was supposed to take a 90-degree turn towards the dais. It was only after the Japanese PM showed him the way again that Trump got it right, and followed her to the dais where the two leaders had to stand before their respective national anthems played. For several months now, the 79-year-old US President is facing questions about his mental acuity. These were only a few examples of the increasingly odd behaviour and gaffes by Trump, who has – like his predecessor Joe Biden – been subject to questions over his mental health. US President Donald Trump, in fact, was also caught boasting about his “very hard IQ test”, appearing to confuse it with a dementia screening test. Claiming to have gained a perfect score, Trump also challenged his Democratic rivals, Jasmine Crockett and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), to take the same exam. The 79-year-old President claimed on Monday to have taken an “IQ test” at Walter Reed Medical Center and called the test “very hard” as he slammed his opponents as “low IQ” persons.
