Images of Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto Windsor Castle by protestors last night.
Several pictures of the US president with the late financier and convicted paedophile were projected onto the walls of the royal residence as he landed in the UK for his second state visit.
Other images were also displayed, including Mr Trump’s mugshot from when he was indicted in 2023, and the Duke of York with Epstein.
Four people have been arrested on suspicion of malicious communications over the stunt, Thames Valley Police said.
Ch Supt Felicity Parker said: “We take any unauthorised activity around Windsor Castle extremely seriously.
She said: “Our officers responded swiftly to stop the projection and four people have been arrested.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation with our partners into the circumstances surrounding this incident and will provide further updates when we are in a position to do so.”
Led By Donkeys, a political campaign group, posted an image of the stunt on Instagram with the caption: “Hey Donald, welcome to Windsor Castle.”
The four people remain in custody, the force said.
The US president and Melania Trump, the first lady, landed at London Stansted Airport on Tuesday evening and spent the night at Winfield House, the residence of the US ambassador to the UK.
On Wednesday, the couple will be treated to a day of pomp and pageantry with the extended Royal family at Windsor Castle where they will be given a full ceremonial welcome and a state banquet.
The visit will mark the first time Mr Trump has seen the King since he became monarch, as well as the first time that an American president has been welcomed for a second state visit – a fact the president has mentioned repeatedly.
Before his departure, Mr Trump praised his “elegant” friend the King and described how “honoured” he was to be hosted at Windsor Castle, which he declared “the ultimate” royal residence compared to Buckingham Palace.
He said it was “going to be a very big day”.
Mr Trump’s relationship with Epstein has faced scrutiny in recent weeks following the publication of a lewd drawing he allegedly sent the notorious paedophile for his 50th birthday in 2003.
The sketch of a woman’s nude silhouette with a birthday message to Epstein written inside ends with what appears to be the US president’s signature.
The note was said to have been part of a 2003 birthday album compiled by Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s ex-girlfriend.
Epstein died by suicide in his cell at the Metropolitan Correction Centre in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Mr Trump has denied sending the message and called reports of the letter “false, malicious, and defamatory”.
