Trump’s 3-word diss turns up heat on feud with MAGA backer Marjorie Taylor Greene

President Donald Trump has hit back against criticism from MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, the Associated Press reported. Trump on Monday said that the polarizing Georgia Republican had “lost her way” by slamming the president for spending too much time on foreign policy. “I don’t know what happened to Marjorie, nice woman,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. “She’s lost her way, I think.” Trump’s comments came on a day where he met with Syrian leaders in the White House and also swore in a new ambassador to India. Greene, a top MAGA supporter of Trump’s, told NBC News last week that “watching the foreign leaders come to the White House through a revolving door is not helping Americans.” Greene said that the president needed to focus on lowering prices for Americans rather than focusing on foreign policy. “It’s not reducing the cost of living.” Greene said. “It’s doing nothing about health insurance premiums. It’s doing nothing to solve the problems that are really plaguing vulnerable segments of our population, especially young people.” In a social media post on Monday cited by Politico, Greene wrote, “I would really like to see nonstop meetings at the WH on domestic policy not foreign policy and foreign country’s leaders.” But Trump said that he views the presidency “as a worldwide situation” that requires a wider focus. “We could have a world that’s on fire, where wars come to our shores very easily, if you had a bad president,” said Trump. The president stressed that he “did not devote a lot of my time” to foreign affairs. Trump said that Greene was “catering to the other side” and that he was “surprised by her.” “When somebody like Marjorie goes over and starts making statements like that, it shows she doesn’t know,” Trump said, according to Politico. Greene had previously broke ranks with the GOP by accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza. Greene has also called upon the Trump administration to release more information about accused sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
