Tributes have been paid to a 'kind dad who was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his second child' after he died following an attack in a car park in Wolverhampton. Navpreet Singh was rushed to hospital by friends at around 1.30am on Wednesday, October 22, after he was attacked off Dudley Road. West Midlands Police launched a murder probe after the 26-year-old suffered serious injuries and died at around 2.10am. Today Mr Singh's family said: “Navpreet was a loving husband, devoted father, brother and son. He was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his second child. “His wife is utterly heartbroken and inconsolable at the loss of her beloved husband, with whom she had been building a beautiful future. “His two sisters, are absolutely devastated and inconsolable, mourning the loss of their cherished brother with whom they shared a deep and unbreakable bond. “The family describe him as a kind, hardworking, and caring man who placed his loved ones above all else. "His warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. “The family request privacy during this extremely difficult time as they grieve their beloved husband, father, son, and brother.” Police now believe Mr Singh was attacked later in the night than initially thought and believe the attack happened at around 1am. A 20-year-old man remains in custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday, Friday, October 24. Two other men, aged 23 and 34, who were arrested on suspicion of murder have since been bailed pending further inquiries.
