mastermind confesses
A triangular love affair was the genesis of the acid attack that left two Balwant Singh Hospital employees with injuries and the man at the centre of the affair has now confessed to being the mastermind, according to the police.
Meantime, the main target of the attack, 25-year-old Jillicia Leitch, in an interview with this newspaper yesterday from her hospital bed called for justice adding that nothing she did warranted the attack by her former 32-year-old lover, Keron Mervin Daniels.
It was on September 3rd Leitch and her colleague, 20-year-old Nirmala Sukraj, left their cashier jobs at the hospital to purchase lunch at Buddy’s Supermarket in East Street when a man exited a car and threw the substance on Leitch and in the process the other woman sustained minor injuries. Leitch was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital as a pillion rider on the motorcycle of a good Samaritan where she remains hospitalized.
