Here in 2025, the Chiefs want to do everything but win, particularly Travis Kelce.
Multiple players for the Kansas City Chiefs sported shirts showing their support for suspended teammate Rashee Rice before their home-opening game Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Travis Kelce, the tight end for the Chiefs and fiancé of pop queen Taylor Swift, was wearing the shirt along with wide receiver Tyquan Thornton. Wearing them during warmups, the shirts featured pictures of Rice and the phrase “Free 4.”

The NFL issued a six-game suspension on Rice at the beginning of the campaign for being in violation of their personal conduct policy. (RELATED: Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence Has Tense Exchange With Liam Coen As Team Blows It Against Bengals)
Rice won’t be eligible to return to action until Oct. 19, per KCTV 5. Then, Kansas City plays host to the Las Vegas Raiders.
The 25-year-old’s suspension was a result of him being involved in a multi-car wreck in Dallas that left multiple people injured. In Apr. 2024, Rice and ex-SMU teammate Theodore Knox were racing each other in sports cars on a freeway, topping speeds of 119 MPH, according to police. They ended up crashing, sparking a chain-reaction that saw six cars involved in the wreck, authorities said.
Rice was suspended following a guilty plea July 17 to felony charges to the third-degree, which were racing on a highway causing bodily injury and collision involving serious bodily injury.
He was given a sentence of five years on probation, as well as 30 days in jail that is allowed to be served within those five years.
