Travis Kelce had the time of his life exploring the Big Apple with his fiancée, Taylor Swift. “I got out of the house a little bit [and] I went over to New York,” Travis, 36, told his brother, Jason Kelce, on the Wednesday, November 12, episode of their “New Heights” podcast. “[I] just hung out, man, put [my] feet up, saw some cool places [and] ate some great food. I got to feel the big city and its electricity and its buzz that it’s always got.” He continued, “It’s my favorite time now as the seasons are changing to be around the Midwest and the Northeast, and it was pretty fun.” Travis, who is the starting tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, traveled to Manhattan for a string of date nights with Swift, 35, this past weekend. In addition to stepping out with “The Fate of Ophelia” singer, Travis also met up with some of his friends. “There’s a picture of me at Puffy’s Tavern, saying what’s up to a couple guys,” Travis said on Wednesday. “I met my guy Summit out for a drink and met some friends. [I] got some new friends out in New York. It’s cool to just, kind of, vibe around the city like that.” He added, “I think that’s one of my favorite things do in New York, to be one with the city, just walk the streets and feel the electricity, feeling everybody doing their own s*** and meeting a few people along the way.” Another core memory Travis had from his trip was “people-watching” on the NYC subway. “People-watching is one of my favorite things to do, and that’s another reason I love New York and just see people doing some wild s***,” Travis joked. The Chiefs’ NFL bye week was also a time for Travis to take a much-needed break from the constant grind of the football season. (The Chiefs will next travel to Colorado to play the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 16.) “You get so ingrained in the routine of things and your days are set, your schedules are set during the season,” he said. “The bye week is just that. If you’re fortunate enough to come out healthy and you can get away. I like to get away and recharge. Not everyone has the same feeling, and there’s a lot of guys that have families and they end up staying in town.” For Travis, exploring a different city and a new environment allows him that chance to unwind and recharge. “I just shut it down. I’ll watch [other football] games on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, but I like to get away,” he said. “Being in Kansas City for 12 years straight for eight months out of the year. It’s, like, yeah, that can be a nice home for somebody but, at the same time, I’m somebody [who needs] to move my feet, man. I got to travel, I got to see new things, visit friends — and I got to see a lot of friends and family out there on the East Coast.” Travis spends most of his NFL season in Kansas City with Swift by his side. The couple, who have been together since 2023, got engaged in August.
