Trains CANCELLED after emergency on line near Manchester - full list

Dozens of trains have been cancelled or delayed following an emergency incident near Manchester . Northern, TransPennine Express and Transport for Wales services are all affected by an incident this morning (October 1). Emergency services have been working on the line between Newton-le-Willows and Manchester. The incident is understood to be in the Patricroft area, in Salford . All railway lines are closed through the area as a result of the incident, with disruption expected to last until 10am. Never miss a story with the MEN’s daily Catch Up newsletter – get it in your inbox by signing up here A National Rail spokesperson said: “All lines are closed between Manchester Victoria / Manchester Oxford Road and Newton-le-Willows whilst the emergency services deal with an incident. “Trains travelling between these stations may be delayed by up to 45 minutes, cancelled or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00.” Further details about the emergency incident are yet to be confirmed. British Transport Police has been approached for information.
