Training for dairy officers held

A four-day training programme on next-generation extension approaches for officers of the Dairy Development Department was held at the Dairy Training Centre (DTC), Naduvattom, Beypore, from September 23 to 26. Jointly organised by the Extension Education Institute (EEI), Hyderabad, and the Dairy Development Department, the programme saw the participation of 20 Dairy Development Officers.

The sessions focused on equipping officers with knowledge and skills in next-generation extension methodologies, with special emphasis on digital technologies and their practical applications at the field level to improve work efficiency and enhance dairy farm productivity.

Technical sessions were led by Madhu K. Babu and Sreenivas, Professors at EEI Hyderabad. Additional sessions were handled by Varkey George, Principal of the Dairy Training Centre; Subin K. Mohan, Assistant Professor at Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU); Sreeram Vishnu, Assistant Professor at the Regional Agricultural Research Station, Ambalavayal; and Shareek P., a digital marketing expert.

The programme also featured interactive discussions where participants shared their experiences and deliberated on strategies to integrate advanced digital tools into extension activities.
