One Conservative MP has caused a stir on Good Morning Britain after using language many viewers deemed unacceptable whilst live on air. Host Kate Garraway was forced to step in and apologise to viewers. Jenrick was on the show to talk about David Lammy's performance in the House of Commons when answering questions about the accidental release of two prisoners. The conversation soon got heated. Seemingly forgetting he was on breakfast TV, the Shadow Justice Secretary called the situation "total b******t". He criticised Lammy for not speaking about the situation before the news broke. When Garraway said Lammy may not have wanted to talk about it before it was official, Jenrick's response included the expletive. He said: "Well Kate, it's very early in the morning and your viewers are still having their breakfast, but that I’m afraid if you excuse my language is total b******t.” Garraway immediately told him off, saying "Don't swear. Don't swear." She then interrupted his time on the show to apologise to any children watching the show. "Mr Jenrick, you made some serious points. I’m just going to apologise on your behalf to children watching because we know they watch this programme," she said, before pleading with him not to swear again. "Please don’t swear again because you’ll get us all into trouble.” Fans were deeply shocked and upset by Jenrick's language. One called the MP an "absolute nightmare" and said his language was a "sign of desperation". "Robert Jenrick just had an absolute nightmare on @GMB. Resorting to swearing is a sign of desperation, embarrassing," they said. Another added that they felt the UK deserves better. "Nothing says 'serious politics' like Robert Jenrick swearing on live TV just to go viral. Peak 2025. Not outraged – just sad and frustrated that this is the level we’ve sunk to. We deserve better." A third said it but them "right off my toast and jam". Another was upset that their children now knew the swear word. "Well, Robert Jenrick just said b******t at 6.49 am on national TV new word for kids eating breakfast before school." Like this story?
