"I once heard Dubai described as 'Vegas without the self-awareness.'" Many can relate to a family or friend hyping up a city, saying it's a must-visit. Then you book the trip, you spend the money, and you land with high expectations. And then, it's...meh. Maybe it's beautiful, has architecture and monuments that are significant and impressive, but it's just...overrated. On Reddit, u/Pretty_Reserve_5381 asked, "What's the most overrated city in the world?" Now, this isn't the same conversation as most overrated city in the US; we're talking the globe. With 4.6k comments and an overwhelming winner, let's get into it: 1. "Vegas" 2. "Dubai. An absolute culture vacuum bereft of any architectural or historical beauty or significance..." 3. "Miami, Florida. What a superficial wasteland." 4. "Fresno, California. Most people think it sucks…which is a way higher rating than it deserves." 5. "Cairo, Egypt. The Pyramids are objectively very cool, but man, complete nightmare otherwise." 6. "Nashville. Now expensive and crowded." 7. "Dallas, Texas.
