Here’s your round-up of all the latest Swansea City news for Thursday, September 18. Swansea City manager Alan Sheehan has bemoaned the ‘incredible’ timing of their trip to Birmingham City following their dramatic Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest. The Swans stunned Ange Postecoglou’s Forest by fighting their way back to claim a 3-2 victory, courtesy of two stoppage-time goals, including a 97th minute winner from Cameron Burgess . Sheehan chose to make six changes to his side on the night, a move he suggested earlier in the week would be with Saturday’s trip to St Andrew’s in mind, with the Swans facing a quick turnaround ahead of their trip to face the Blues. “I think it’s getting our consistency now,” Sheehan began. “I think we’ve had a wonderful night tonight. “You’d love to enjoy it, but the minute this interview and all the rest of my media is over, we’ll be debriefing this and then we’ll be getting ready for Birmingham. “I think it’s just over 60 hours, which is incredible, but you guys make the timing of the fixtures. So we just obey it, if you want to say.” Matchwinner Burgess, who scored a brace on the night, says the dramatic Carabao Cup victory over Nottingham Forest underlined the belief running through Sheehan’s squad right now. “I am not sure I have the words to describe it, but that’s why we love football, that’s why we love cup football,” he said. “There was a big belief in the team, and we carried that into how we performed on the pitch. “I thought we played really well across the game, they took their chances and that’s what happens against a team with the quality they have. “But we believed, we were playing well and we knew we just needed to keep doing the right things. In the end it paid off. “Now we have to continue to work hard, it’s been an incredible night, the fans were wonderful and I hope we can have more moments like that with them.” Kristian Pedersen has found a new club following his summer departure from the Swans. The defender was released by City in May having joined joind the club in 2023, making just seven Swansea appearances across two seasons. He has now joined Danish Superliga side FC Fredericia. Sporting director Stig Pedersen said: “An opportunity arose to bring in Kristian after the transfer window closed, and we are very happy that it has been successful. “He has trained with us for a period of time and made a really strong impression both on and off the pitch, and we are pleased that we have signed each other for the rest of the season. “Kristian comes with an impressive CV and has played hundreds of matches at a high level in both Germany and England. It is not every day that you can add a player with such a strong background to a squad in the 3F Superliga, says the director about the new addition.” Sign up to the Swansea City WhatsApp service to get breaking news and top stories sent to your phone . Former Swans boss Michael Duff has been named the new head coach at Wycombe Wanderers. The Northern Irishman has been out of work since leaving Huddersfield Town in March, but is back in League One following the departure of Mike Dodds. Duff endured an underwhelming spell in charge of the Swans after being named successor to Russell Martin in June 2023. He was eventually dismissed from his post in December of that year.
