The Member of Parliament for Tolon Constituency, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, has triggered the Right to Information (RTI) law, for an update on the August 6 helicopter crash that claimed eight lives. The First Deputy Minority Whip of the 9th Parliament of the Republic of Ghana is demanding the release of the investigative report as promised by the President following the establishment of a committee of inquiry on August 25, 2025. “In light of the time that has passed and the significant public interest in this matter, I respectfully request a copy of the investigative report or update. This request is made in accordance with Article 21(1)(f) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana, which upholds our right to information, as well as Section 18 of the Right to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989).” “The public deserves to know what led to this tragic loss of such prominent figures and dedicated public servants. Therefore, I kindly ask for the full and final report from the investigative committee or any update from the committee…If the complete report is not yet available, I would appreciate it if you could release a partial or interim report.” A GAF helicopter crashed on August 6, 2025, in Adansi Akrofrom in the Ashanti Region, claiming the lives of Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator. It also claimed the lives of Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General, NADMO, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manden Twum-Ampadu and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
