The Department of Technical Education (DOTE) has announced the results for the Government Technical Examinations (GTE) in Commerce Subjects, Typewriting, Shorthand, and Accountancy. Candidates who appeared for the exams can check their qualifying status through the official website, tndtegteonline.in or dte.tn.gov.in, using their login credentials. Over 1 Lakh Candidates Qualify: GTE The official data released by the Department of Technical Education (DOTE) indicates that a total of 180,743 candidates applied for the August 2025 GTE examinations, of which 174,567 candidates appeared and 110,884 candidates passed. The overall pass percentage was recorded at 63.52%. A total of 47,098 candidates obtained distinction, 42,487 secured first class, and 21,299 achieved second class. Meanwhile, 63,473 failed to clear the exam this year. The typewriting exams (pre-junior, junior, senior, and high speed) were held on 30 and 31 August, while the shorthand exams (junior, intermediate, senior, and high speed) took place on 23 and 24 August, and the accountancy exams (junior and senior) on 25 August.
