School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has officially announced that the Class 10 public examinations in Tamil Nadu will be held from March 11 to April 6, 2026. According to the schedule released by the Minister of School Education, the Tamil paper will be held on March 11, followed by English on March 16. After an eight-day interval, the Mathematics exam will take place on March 25. The Science paper is scheduled for March 30, Social Science for April 2, and the Optional Language exam on April 6. Highlighting the importance of maintaining fairness and discipline during the board examinations, Minister Anbil Mahesh assured that all necessary arrangements have been made for a smooth conduct of the exams across the state. He also confirmed that the board results will be declared on May 5, well before the commencement of the new academic year. Minister Anbil Mahesh further emphasised that the upcoming assembly elections will not disrupt the examination process, as the dates were carefully planned to avoid any overlap. In a notable update, Minister Anbil Mahesh also announced that for the first time,, students appearing for the Class 12 Accountancy examination will be permitted to use calculators during the exam. Every year, lakhs of students appear for the Tamil Nadu board examinations, which are considered one of the most important milestones in a student’s academic journey. With this early announcement, schools will be able to revise coursework, hold special classes, and prepare students for the final phase of their board examinations.
