Kaieteur Sports – Today, the Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) Women’s team will wrap up what has been a challenging campaign at this year’s Massy Women’s Caribbean Premier League, when they take on the undefeated Barbados Royals at the Providence National Stadium, from 15:00hrs.
The defending champions, Royals, have a perfect record of three consecutive wins and lead the points table with six and the Guyana Amazon Warriors (GAW) are in second with two wins and two losses for a total of four points while TKR have lost their consecutive matches and have missed out on the playoffs.
The battle today still has slim promise of a consolation win for TKR while there is game time before Wednesday’s finale for the defending champs and a complete shutout of the prelim games on the cards to achieve.
TKR will have to navigate the disciplined Royals bowling attack that will be led by the inform Chamari Athapaththu with the likes of Sheneta Grimmond and Afy Fletcher while having to get past the bats of
Qiana Joseph and BR captain, Chinelle Henry.
On Wednesday, September 17, the tournament culminates at the same venue from 14:00hrs when the defending champions take on the Warriors, who are still in the hunt for a Massy WCPL Title.
