Nigerians from various walks of life include political and business leaders have showed encomiums on Senator Oluremi Tinubu on her 65th birthday
In a tribute yesterday, President Bola Tinubu praised the First Lady as not just a spouse but a partner whose quiet sacrifices have shaped their family and impacted the nation. He called her his confidant, counsellor and unwavering anchor through decades of political and personal trials.
”Oluremi, as you celebrate your 65th birthday today, I honour not only the love of my life, but also a woman whose quiet strength and enduring grace have been my steadying anchor.
”Through every season, from the long years of struggle and political exile, to leadership responsibilities, you have stood firmly by my side with dignity, patience, and devotion that words can scarcely express.
”You are more than a wife. You are my confidant, counsellor, and the steady flame illuminating my path.
“In you, our children and grandchildren see the example of compassion and faith, and in you, our nation sees the true strength of womanhood; resolute yet tender, humble yet unshakably firm.”
According to him, the nation is indebted to the first lady for her silent but significant role in both family stability and national development.
”Nigeria owes you more than many will ever know. In every sacrifice you made quietly, in every burden you carried without complaint, you have served this country as surely as I have, not from the podium, but from the heart of our home.”
Tinubu thanked God Almighty for her life and praised her compassion and philanthropy, which he said had positively impacted millions across the country.
”Today, as your husband, I thank God for your life, health, and unwavering love. As your president, I salute you as the first lady whose warmth and empathy continue to touch millions of lives across our land.
”As your lifelong companion, I say that I love you more than ever, and am blessed every day by your presence. Your love is a treasure I hold dear,” he said. Tinubu prayed that the years ahead would be filled with joy, peace, and fulfilment for the first lady.
In his birthday message, Vice President Kashim Shettima described her as a symbol of womanhood, strength, and compassion.
“Words cannot define what this day means to us all – from my family, staff, and indeed the entire nation. 65 may be a figure but to us, it is a reflection of countless years of brilliant motherhood.
” It is an exemplary service to nationhood, and a reflection of the brilliance, compassion, and unwavering support that a First Lady can provide to her husband and an entire nation.”
He said when the history of Nigeria and in particular, President Tinubu’s administration is written, the name of the first lady would be inscribed in gold.
”You have earned it with your passion, good heart, service, sense of decorum, and strength that you have brought to bear on our nation’s development and progress.
” Your sense of unity and upliftment of humanity is legendary. You have touched millions of lives through your Renewed Hope Initiative, which reverberates across the nation,” he said.
Shettima noted that the first lady’s empathy has touched countless lives, adding that her commitment to women’s empowerment, youth development, education, and empowerment of the needy remained a testament to her enduring legacy.
” As you celebrate this milestone birthday, we honour your quiet strength, resilience, and devotion to our great nation.”
Similarly, the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) in a statement by its Chairman and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, praised he as “a symbol of dignity and a true matriarch of the nation whose quiet strength and compassion continue to inspire hope and touch lives across the country.”
Governor Yahaya, speaking on behalf of the northern governors, commended Mrs. Tinubu for her decades of public service, first as a senator and now as First Lady, noting that her life has been defined by “uncommon devotion to uplifting the vulnerable, amplifying the voices of the unheard and building bridges of unity and compassion.”
He praised her flagship humanitarian program, the Renewed Hope Initiative, which, according to him, has provided relief to thousands of women, children and families in need across Nigeria.
The governors also lauded the First Lady’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing her as “a quiet force behind the presidency, offering counsel and grace as the nation navigates the path toward progress and renewal.”
Governor Yahaya stressed the commitment of the Northern Governors’ Forum to continue working with the Presidency and the Office of the First Lady in advancing programs that promote national unity and social welfare.
