Amylu Foods is a pioneer in the chicken sausage industry, starting its business in 1994 after Amylu learned how to make old-world-style sausages from her grandfather. He founded Leon’s Sausage Company in Chicago in 1924, bringing his expertise in sausage-making from Europe. Since then, Amylu Foods has added new flavors to its line of sausages and has expanded its collection of chicken products to include meatballs and burgers, among other items. Its chicken meatball category includes roasted garlic, Italian-style, sea salt and cracked black pepper, and teriyaki pineapple, plus its latest seasonal flavor—fan-favorite cranberry and jalapeño. These juicy, fall-inspired meatballs contain just a few simple ingredients—chicken, cranberries, jalapeño peppers, cane and maple sugars, spices, chipotle pepper, kosher salt, rosemary extract and vinegar. The combination of sweet and spicy is always a crowd-pleaser. Want trending news, op-eds, and top stories straight to your inbox? Sign up for our Daily newsletter. Like all its products, Amylu prefers to keep things simple. There are no nitrites or nitrates added, and they’re gluten-free and pork-free, boasting 14 grams of protein and only two grams of sugar per serving. All of its meatballs are fully cooked, making them a quick and easy main dish for busy weeknights. Amylu Cranberry and Jalapeño Chicken Meatballs, $16.49 at Costco In response to its Instagram post announcing the launch of cranberry and jalapeño chicken meatballs, fans raved with excitement. “Need to try these immediately,” said one person. “Absolutely love these!” exclaimed another. “These are amazing. I am definitely stocking up next time I am at the store. My favorite way to use these is to make Swedish meatballs. So good and my picky kids eat them too,” stated one more person. The cranberry and jalapeño chicken meatballs are only available at Costco in a bulk pack. And because they’re a limited-edition holiday flavor, you’ll have to grab them by Dec. 1, as they won’t be available beyond that date. If you’re not a Costco member, Amylu Foods’ other products are available at various retailers nationwide. It’s most known for its sausages, which feature flavors such as apple and Gouda, roasted garlic and Asiago, andouille, Italian-style caprese, caramelized onion and white cheddar, and cacio e pepe.
