Tim Curry has faced his own mortality after suffering with his health for 13 years. The Rocky Horror Picture Show legend has admitted he's "not scared" of death and anticipates he might even "welcome it". The 79-year-old actor, who was left wheelchair-bound and reliant on carers after suffering a stroke 13 years ago, recently confessed that he no longer dreads the end of life and may find it "comforting" to say his final goodbye. During an interview on CBS Sunday Morning Curry shared: "I don't fear death. I try to avoid it. I think we all do but I suspect that in the end I will welcome it. I think it may be very comforting to go bye-bye and I want to earn it." Tim also revealed his initial terror when he had the stroke, as his father had previously died from the same condition: "I was scared, I had to learn how to speak again. That was very weird. I hated not being able to speak [and] my face kind of went sideways." This comes after Curry's previous confession that he could have another stroke "at any time". When asked if he fears experiencing a similar episode in the future, he told the Guardian newspaper: "I probably should [worry]. It could happen any time. I wouldn't want to go through it again because it just makes you so f****** vulnerable," reports the Express . Curry relies on a wheelchair for movement and is unable to use his left arm, but is supported by a team of carers: "They really take incredibly good care of me and make me laugh." He went on to reveal that the most difficult part of his condition is the loss of his short-term memory, which means he will never be able to perform on stage again: "I can't remember a f****** thing. I'm not sure that I could do theatre again." Curry suffered the stroke while receiving a massage and it was his therapist who noticed something wrong and called for an ambulance. While speaking at a special screening of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Academy Museum in Los Angeles last month he explained: "I was having a massage at the time and I didn't even actually notice anything, but the guy who was doing the massage said: 'I'm worried about you, I want to call an ambulance,' and he did and I said: 'That's so silly.'"
