Tim Cook: Apple Will Have Its Best Ever December Quarter, Thanks To The iPhone 17 Lineup

Apple's iPhone product segment missed consensus expectations of analysts for the just-concluded fiscal fourth quarter of 2025, largely due to transitory weakness in iPhone 17 sales. Now, however, Apple has not only given a reasonable explanation behind this miss, but also offered a surprising guidance for the ongoing December-ending quarter. Apple to experience its best ever December-ending quarter As we noted in our dedicated post on the topic, Apple's iPhone revenue missed expectations for its fiscal Q4 2025, which were pegged at $50.19 billion vs. the $49.03 billion haul that the Cupertino giant reported for the three-month period. During the earnings call, Apple's Tim Cook noted that the transitory weakness in iPhone sales was a result of "supply constraints," going on to note that "currently we're supply-constrained on several models of the iPhone 17." Apple's CEO took pains to highlight the fact that the weakness in iPhone 17 sales was not the result of a weak demand environment. In fact, Cook declared that he was "incredibly excited about the strength we're seeing across our products and services." Moreover, Apple is now predicting its best ever December-ending quarter: "We expect the December quarter revenue to be the best ever for the company and the best ever for iPhone." Elsewhere, Cook noted that Apple has received a "tremendous response" to its iPhone 17 lineup. This follows a number of reports in recent weeks that highlighted elevated demand for the base iPhone 17 and its Pro Max variant. Of course, in China, the iPhone Air is receiving a wild reception, largely due to its eSIM-only novelty in a country where eSIMs for smartphones were generally not available until just a few days ago. According to anecdotal reports, the iPhone Air was sold out within hours of going on sale in China.
