I used to teach at an international school in Singapore. An American family left to go back to America and only stayed for a few months before returning as they were horrified at the education their daughters were receiving there. One of them had to do a presentation on a country, so she chose Singapore. She failed as she was told to do a country and not a city. No matter how much her parents explained to the teacher, and then the principal, that Singapore was a country they wouldn’t change her grade. That’s when they packed up and left.
