Stand-up comedian John Mulaney will make history when he headlines a show at Wrigley Field next summer, and fans will soon get their chance to buy tickets. Mulaney, a Chicago-native who has become a comedy icon thanks to stand-up specials like “New in Town” and “Kid Gorgeous,” will embark on the second leg of his “Mister Whatever Tour” in early January, culminating with a history making headlining show at Wrigley Field in July. According to the Cubs, Mulaney will be the first comedian to ever headline a show at the venerable ballpark when he takes the stage on Saturday, July 11. In a press release, Live Nation announced that presale tickets for Mulaney’s Chicago show will go on sale on Tuesday at noon local time. Pre-sales for the rest of the tour begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, with a full on-sale date set for Friday. Sign-ups are available on Mulaney’s website. In addition to his stand-up tour, Mulaney will soon appear as EA Sports founder Trip Hawkins in the Amazon MGM Studios biopic “Madden.” Local He also has hosted the Netflix original show “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney,” with all episodes available on Netflix. The second leg of his “Mister Whatever Tour” will begin on January 9 at Minneapolis’ The Armory. Mulaney will perform on Friday, January 16 at the Stifel Theatre in St. Louis, and on Friday, Jan. 23 at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wisconsin.
