Ansir Khan, Raheel Khan and Leon Matthews admitted to conspiracy to supply Ccass A drugs and were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on October 23. Ansir Khan, 43 and of Charterhouse Drive in Solihull, was jailed for 10 years and five months; Raheel Khan, 33 and of Coventry Road in Sheldon, was jailed for 10 years and nine months; and Matthews, 47 and of Rowood Drive, Solihull, was jailed for four years and six months. The West Midlands Police County Lines Taskforce had acted on information and uncovered the ‘Kash Line’, which supplied cocaine and heroin between 2023 and 2024 and which ran between Birmingham and Solihull. Officers examined phone records which showed almost 60,000 texts from the main hotline number, often sent in bulk, and more than 30,000 calls in and out and were able to link the Khan brothers and Matthews to the number and the illegal supply network. Khan and Khan were heavily involved in the running of the operation while Matthews was used to ferry around the drugs. They were arrested after a series of warrants were executed last June. Detective Sergeant Craig Tennant, from the County Lines Taskforce, said: “Through the number of calls and texts it’s clear this was a line supplying a significant amount of class A drugs. "We were able to identify those involved and not only shut down the network, but ensure they’ve been put behind bars for their involvement. “We know County Lines networks cause misery within our communities as drugs not only ruin lives, but also fuel other crime. We’re working day in, day out, to bring down drug lines. "We’re running Operation Target as part of our work to take drugs off the streets and tackle organised crime."
