Three-hatted restaurant Oncore by Clare Smyth will close its doors in a little over three months after its agreement with Crown Sydney ends. The fine-dining eatery, which boasts sweeping views of Sydney Harbour from its level 26 perch in Barangaroo, is scheduled to remain open until February 28. "After four incredible years, we announce that Oncore by Clare Smyth will close its doors at Crown Sydney," the restaurant said in a statement. "Being honoured with three Good Food Guide hats consecutively is a testament to them and their remarkable talent." Reservations at the restaurant will remain open until the end of February. There is no word on who might replace Oncore's tenure in the famous Barangaroo building. Three-Michelin star British chef Smyth opened Oncore in November 2021 inside the Sydney hotel-casino following months-long delays due to COVID-19. "Together with @ChefClareSmyth, we have created a dining experience that sets a benchmark for excellence, and we are delighted to have shared that with so many wonderful guests," the statement continued. "We invite you for a final farewell sitting overlooking Sydney Harbour, reservations are available until February 28." A tasting menu at Oncore costs $395 per person, not including drinks. There is also a "mini" tasting menu available for $160 per person. It made Smyth the first-ever female chef and only the second chef in history to hold three Michelin stars and three hats at the same time. Once Smyth departs Oncore, she is expected to open luxury restaurant Cornucopia in London.
