SOLON, Ohio — Solon’s October lineup is packed with fall fun, from pumpkin decorating and live music at Fall Fest to wellness tips at Mind Body Connect and candy collecting along the city’s first Trick-or-Treat Trail.
Katie Holub, special event coordinator for the city, said this year’s schedule offers something for everyone.
“This year’s lineup of fall events is extra special because there’s truly something for everyone in the Solon community,” Holub said. “New this year, the Trick-or-Treat Trail offers a safe and festive way for kids to enjoy Halloween, while other favorites, like the Solon Fall Festival, provide fresh opportunities for fun, learning, and connection.”
Holub said each of the fall events is designed to strengthen neighborhood bonds.
“These fall events help bring the Solon community together by offering activities that appeal to all ages and interests,” she said. “By blending fall traditions, creativity, and community involvement, these events strengthen neighborhood bonds and showcase the spirit of Solon.”
Fall Fest — Oct. 4
The event schedule kicks off with Fall Fest on Oct. 4 at Bicentennial Park, a venue that Holub said offers a unique backdrop tied to the city’s history. The family-friendly event features pumpkin decorating in the Pumpkin Patch, a corn box, backyard games, inflatables, live music, and food trucks.
“This year’s Fall Festival is extra special because we’re bringing the celebration to Bicentennial Park,” Holub said. “Not only does the park create a more intimate atmosphere, but it also holds historical value for the City of Solon, making it the perfect place to spotlight.”
The festival will feature inflatables, live bands, food, face painting, and a variety of activities, from bubble demonstrations to axe throwing and log sawing. Holub said the event has become a Solon tradition over the past eight years, drawing more than 2,000 attendees annually.
Mind Body Connection — Oct. 11
A week later, the community will gather for the Mind Body Connection event on Oct. 11, a free event designed to highlight the many ways residents can focus on health and wellness. The fair will feature local vendors, health professionals and organizations sharing resources on fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and other aspects of well-being.
“The Mind Body Connection health fair will bring together local vendors, doctors, and organizations to share resources, services, and information on all aspects of wellness with the Solon community,” Holub said. “The event is free for participants and for vendors, organizations, and businesses that are passionate about promoting well-being.”
Trick-or-Treat Trail — Oct. 25
Closing out the month, families can enjoy the city’s first-ever Trick-or-Treat Trail on Oct. 25 at the Solon Community Center. The walking path will be transformed into a festive route where children can collect candy in a safe environment.
“This is a brand-new event for the City of Solon,” Holub said. “The Trick-or-Treat Trail brings the tradition of fun and safe Halloween celebrations to the walking path around the Solon Community Center. We invite local businesses to participate for free and join in the festive fun.”
Holub said the event offers businesses a chance to connect with families while ensuring children of all ages and abilities can participate.
