TUSCOLA COUNTY, MI – The Kingston Community Schools district will have increased law enforcement visibility today after the FBI flagged a threat made by students. Students involved in making the threat have been removed from the school environment, according to a news release from the Kingston Village Police Department. The FBI, Michigan State Police, Tuscola County Sheriff’s Department and the Kingston Village Police Department are investigating the threat shared on social media. Officials said any threat, whether made seriously or as a joke, will not be taken lightly. Superintendent Shona Vennevy said the threat was made on Snapchat. “Such actions can cause fear and disruption within our schools and carry severe criminal and disciplinary consequences,” Chief Albert Pearsall said in a statement. Threats and other concerning behavior can be reported to the school resource officer or through OK2SAY at this link. The case will be forwarded to the Tuscola County Prosecutor’s Office for review and potential charges, according to the department.
