The Better Journeys Project has opened applications for its newly launched Fund for Schools, offering practical grants and expert guidance to help schools install or expand active-travel infrastructure and programmes. £3,000 is available per school in Guernsey and up to £1,500 in Jersey. Eligible ideas include secure cycle parking, safer access routes, lockers, loan bikes, and engagement campaigns that make it easier and safer for students to walk, scoot, and cycle to school. Schools or parents should identify a project that needs funding, complete the short online application form by 10 January 2026, and will be notified of the outcomes by 1 February 2026. The money for the 2025/26 Fund is coming from Appleby Global, continued support from The Tom Dorey Eco-Legacy, and a £1,500 boost from the Health Improvement Commission (in Guernsey only).
