Mohammed Kudus impressed Spurs fans with two assists in Tottenham’s 3-1 win over Burnley, making an instant mark in North LondonTottenham’s attack is firing from players like Richarlison, Brennan Johnson, and co, who have all contributed goals this seasonA Ghanaian football analyst has warned that Mohammed Kudus cannot repeat last season’s ordinary stats
Tottenham Hotspur fans have been excited since the arrival of Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus this summer.
The winger joined Spurs from West Ham United in a £55 million deal, with hopes of strengthening the club’s attacking options.
According to ESPN, Kudus made an immediate impression on the opening day of the new Premier League season, providing two assists in Tottenham’s 3-1 triumph over Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Since then, the 14-year-old has been a regular in Thomas Frank’s line-up, showcasing his dribbling, vision, and link-up play on the right wing.
His creativity has added a fresh spark to the Lilywhites’ attack, earning praise from both fans and the media alike.
While Kudus has been instrumental in creating chances, goal-scoring has been shared across Tottenham’s squad this season.
According to the Premier League tops scorers chart, forward Richarlison leads the line with two goals, while Brennan Johnson, the young winger, has matched that tally.
Defenders Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero have also chipped in with goals, demonstrating the team’s versatility in attack.
Midfielders Joa Palhinha, Pape Matar Sarr, and Lucas Bergvall have each contributed with a goal, underscoring the club’s collective approach to scoring.
This spread of goal contributions indicates that Tottenham is not solely reliant on one player to deliver in front of goal, which is an encouraging sign for the team’s depth.
On this subject, Ghanaian football analyst Alhaji Mahama told YEN.com.gh that Kudus’ ability to score goals will be pivotal for his success at Tottenham Hotspur.
He noted that one reason West Ham decided to sell the Ghanaian winger was due to his ordinary statistical output last season.
“For Kudus, finding the back of the net consistently will be key to thriving at Tottenham. According to West Ham, they parted ways with him largely because his numbers last season didn’t stand out. At Spurs, he cannot afford a repeat if he wants to establish himself and make a real mark in North London.”
Why Thomas Frank could drop Mohammed Kudus
Despite his bright start in terms of creativity, Mohammed Kudus has yet to open his goal account after four Premier League matches.
For a player expected to provide both goals and assists from the right wing, this has started to raise questions about his efficiency in front of goal.
Manager Thomas Frank now faces a decision ahead of the upcoming fixtures, and with several other attacking options in form, Frank may consider tweaking his line-up if Kudus fails to start scoring.
The Ghanaian international’s ability to adapt and start finding the net could prove crucial in maintaining his spot in Tottenham’s starting eleven as the season progresses.
Mohammed Kudus’ lack of goals
In an earlier report, YEN.com.gh examined Mohammed Kudus’ struggle to find the back of the net for Tottenham Hotspur, despite consistently showing flashes of his exceptional talent on the pitch.
The Ghanaian international’s inability to convert chances into goals has raised questions about his effectiveness in front of goal this season.
