In the glitzy and glamorous world of Bollywood we often see star kids following in the footsteps of their legendary parents inheriting fame fortune and the spotlight and of course the legacy. However there are a few rare gems that carve their own niche and go outside the box. One such example of this is Kapil Kapoor son of the renowned actor Kamal Kapoor a man who ruled the silver screen for decades with his iconic villainous roles in classics like Don Pakeezah Roti Kapada Aur Makaan Karan Arjun and Aag Hi Aag. While Kamal Kapoor was a popular face in the Indian cinema his son Kapil took a different route which was still linked with the entertainment world but just in front of the camera. Kapil Kapoor’s Journey Behind the Camera While Kamal Kapoor was celebrated as a powerhouse performer on screen Kapil Kapoor chose to carve his niche behind it. Instead of facing the camera and chasing the limelight Kapil stepped into the world of filmmaking as a director. He directed about four films during his short-lived career in Bollywood. Although Kapil was very determined to make a name for himself his career trajectory as a director was short-lived. He only directed four films in his career which were Yeh Vaada Raha and Chor Pe Mor while serving as assistant director and producer for Khel Khel Mein and Pukar. Despite his sincere passion and creative drive the films couldn’t perform well commercially and failed to bring him the recognition he expected. A Dream That Couldnt Be Fulfilled Demotivated by this Kapil decided to call it quits and bid adieu to the film industry. Later he tried his hand at creating television shows but even those ventures couldn’t bring long-term success. Over time he quietly stepped away from the entertainment world altogether. Two Generations Two Tales While Kamal Kapoor continues to be remembered among Hindi cinema’s finest actors his son Kapil Kapoors journey is proof that no matter whether you belong to the industry or not the real king of the entertainment world is always the audience. Unless the audience doesnt resonates with the craft success cannot touch you. Not every legacy translates into success and not every star kid finds the same spotlight. However while Kapil Kapoor may not have reached his father’s stature his courage to follow a different creative path speaks about his self-made mentality.
