This Mumbai iPhone17 Buyer Was In Queue For 8 Hours: ‘Bravest Chauhan After Prithviraj Chauhan’

Apple’s much-awaited iPhone 17 series has officially hit stores, and as expected, the excitement was unmissable. From long queues outside Apple outlets to buyers proudly flaunting their brand-new devices, the frenzy was in full swing.
In cities like Mumbai, eager customers began lining up hours before the stores opened, with some even arriving at midnight to secure the latest iPhone. Among them was one buyer whose extravagant purchase quickly became the talk of the day.
‘Waiting Since 12 Midnight’
Aman Chouhan from Mumbai became the centre of attention after waiting nearly eight hours outside the BKC Apple Store to buy the newly launched iPhone 17 Pro Max. Reaching the store at midnight, he finally walked out with not one but two models, 256GB and 1TB, both in Apple’s newly introduced Cosmic Orange shade.
“I was waiting in line since 12 midnight and now I have got it. It has new features. The orange colour is new, which is in demand,” Chouhan told ANI while smiling and proudly displaying his purchase.
‘Bravest Chauhan After Prithviraj’: Internet Roasts Mumbai Buyer
Aman’s flashy purchase caught everyone’s eye online, and soon the comments section was filled with playful and mostly sarcastic remarks.
One user commented, “One small achievement for Aman, one giant leap for mankind.”
Another added, “Wah kya achievement hai (Wow, what an achievement).”
“The bravest Chauhan after Prithviraj Chauhan,” someone else remarked, while a person asked, “Couldn’t he wait till next week?”
“Waited all night just to flex an orange iPhone. Bro acting like Tim Cook personally ended poverty with this launch. It’s a phone, not the Kohinoor diamond. Apple doesn’t even know these people exist, but they worship like a shareholder without dividends,” a viewer wrote.
An individual jokingly said, “The Tax Department should award him for contributing and paying a substantial amount of tax after waiting since midnight. This is less of a phone, more of a tax product.”
“Nothing says ‘life goals’ like waiting in line since midnight for a phone that has a new orange colour. Forget the world’s problems, who needs sleep, food, or actual priorities when you can flex a 1TB iPhone. Truly, this is how you define success in life!” read another sarcastic remark.
Why Such Craze? Grok Explains
In the middle of these reactions, one user asked chatbot Grok, “Why the craze of iPhones in India is still on top?”
Grok’s reply gave a snapshot of the bigger picture. According to it, “The iPhone craze in India persists due to its status as an aspirational brand, symbolising success amid a growing middle class.”
“Strong demand for iPhone 17 shows via record pre-orders and queues, driven by EMI options (every 4th sale on EMI), premium features, and local manufacturing boosting availability. Sales hit 3M units last quarter, fueled by metro buyers and festive promotions,” the chatbot added.

The First Customer Of Mumbai
While Chouhan became the face of online discussions, he wasn’t the only one making headlines. Another customer, Aman Memon, stood out for being among the first in line.
Memon, who came all the way from Jogeshwari, queued from 3 AM. His wait paid off when he became one of the earliest buyers of the iPhone 17 in Mumbai. He walked away with three phones, of which two were for his family and one was for himself.

Speaking to PTI, Memon shared, “Apple has launched a very good design this year, and the colour of the phone is also very different. This is my favourite colour, that is why I am very excited.”
“I buy all the latest models. I have been waiting for this for seven months. Even if the phone had cost Rs 2 lakh, I would have still bought it because Apple provides high-quality products,” he added.
